So, Joey had an emergency. It is out of his control and ours so he had to cancel.
I know…sucks but there are more important things he had to handle. Wish him best if you know him.
The meeting is still on. What we’ll do is just turn it into a showcase meeting. Everyone gets 5 to 10 minutes (pending how many involved) to showcase a product or project.
We are still going to give away the free CS4 Suite. Come out and get it!
Hopefully you guys still come out and enjoy yourself. Please spread the word.

We have the great opportunity to hear from Joey Lott on November 10, 2008 @ 8 PM. This will be our last meeting of the year due to the holidays and isn’t on our normal meeting date because of Joey’s travel plans. He’ll be in Tucson on the 10th presenting earlier that day and will make it here at 8 PM to speak.
Preso Description:
When building Flex applications the whole is greater than the sum of
its parts. You may know how to work with the pieces of Flex (layout,
styling components, data components, etc.) but it’s still rather easy
to get tangled up and frustrated when trying to stitch the piece
together into a coherent application. In this presentation we’ll look
at strategies you can use to build Flex applications in the best way
possible. Rather than presenting one boiler plate solution as the
“right way” this presentation looks at the bigger picture and common
patterns you can employ.
Presenter:

Preso Description:
Flypaper is a new application to create, publish and track rich interactive, Flash-quality content for the Web—without spending time programming. Flypaper allows creative professionals to focus on the design of an interactive user experience with compelling storylines and not debugging code. Use audio and visual media to engage your audience. Easily publish and propagate your finished content to the Web, including social networking sites such as Facebook and YouTube. And, track who is watching your Story, where they are watching it and how long they watch it.
Making any last-minute changes is a breeze because you’ve empowered your clients (internal or external) with a quick and easy way to edit, share and collaborate on the project. Working with clients that have limited budgets or a production deadline that does not support a traditional project budget or scope is now also possible.
Flypaper Studio is a Phoenix-based start-up focused on changing the way people communicate on the Web. Anyone can download the free application from www.flypaper.com, and access a variety of Web-ready templates and sample content that can be customized and published to any Web site. Yes, the application is free.
We look forward to sharing what we are doing with you at Flypaper and hearing what you think.
Meet us at UAT (http://www.gotoandstop.org/index.php/meeting-directions/) at 6:00 in time for seating and networking.

We got “hacked” and all of the site pages were nixed. Well, not an issue any longer. I got into the database and found the pages were changed to type=post vs type=page. A lil’ query magic and all of our pages are back!! Woo hoo!
So, we’re in full force again. Meeting announcements will be posted here as they were previously.

Flex 3 and AIR are getting close to launch and in preparation, Kevin Hoyt from the Adobe Flex/AIR product team is traveling to select cities to show off the great new features and help prepare us for this exciting launch.
Flex 3 is a feature-packed release, adding new UI components like the advanced datagrid and improved CSS capabilities; powerful tooling additions like refactoring; and extensive testing tools including memory and performance profiling, plus the addition of the automated testing framework to Flex Builder.
Adobe AIR is game-changing in so many ways, extending rich applications to the desktop, enabling access to the local file system, system tray, notifications and much more. Now you can write desktop applications using the same skills that you’ve been already using to create great web apps including both Flex and AJAX.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see and hear about this highly anticipated release of Flex 3 and AIR during this special pre-release tour. Plus, in addition to giving away some one of a kind Flex/AIR branded schwag, we will also be raffling off a copy of Flex Builder 3 Professional (pending availability) and a full commercial copy of CS3 Web Premium at this event!
